Our mission is to promote criminal justice reform, advocate for legal representation in underserved communities, support the professional development of black lawyers and judges, and support and mentor law students in North Texas.
The Dallas Black Criminal Bar Association (DBCBA) is the leading minority bar association that advocates for criminal justice reform and supports professional development within the legal community.
DBCBA is committed to representing the interests of minority citizens through legal advocacy in support of underserved communities.
Having an insatiable appetite for justice is the beginning of a great criminal justice organization. The Dallas Black Criminal Bar Association (DBCBA) is that and much more. We pride ourselves on the efficiency and effectiveness of representing our community in the courtroom as well serving our community through forums and speaking engagements.
What we witnessed over the last year was difficult and unprecedented. We saw the devastating deaths of Breonna Taylor and George Floyd, the beautiful resurgence of the Black Lives Matter movement, to the unfortunate death of Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, the election of a new president, the acts of sedition by domestic terrorists, and the heartbreaking deaths of family and friends due to Covid-19. Our members were affected by all these events and more just as everyone else.
As we navigate this year and make sense of the world, DBCBA is dedicated to making sure our goals are consistent with the needs of the communities we serve and continuing to develop a powerful and trusting relationship with said community. I am excited and honored to serve as President of the Dallas Black Criminal Bar Association. Thank you for this opportunity and let’s continue to fight.
