ACLU OF NORTH TEXAS
Purpose: Accepts referrals from Dallas Civil Liberties Union and other community agencies of cases involving First Amendment rights and various other constitutional issues.

CATHOLIC CHARITIES ILS
Purpose: Provides Immigration and Legal Services provides low-cost (and in some cases, no-cost) legal counseling and representation for individuals who are unable to afford private lawyers for their immigration matters. ILS is a Recognized Organization, authorized by the U.S. Department of Justice to help immigrants with their immigration legal needs.

• Immigrant victims of crime
• Refugee and asylee adjustment of status
• Deportation and Removal

CHILD SUPPORT ENFORCEMENT
Purpose: Provides referrals to appropriate office. This Texas Attorney General’s office obtains and enforces orders for the payment of child support.

DALLAS BAR ASSOCIATION
Purpose: Answers simple legal questions on the phone every Wednesday from 4:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.

DALLAS VOLUNTEER ATTORNEY
Purpose: In addition to sponsoring the Pro Se Family Law Clinic, Debt Counseling Clinic, Legal Clinic for the Elderly, Mental Health Law Clinic, and Wills Clinic, the Dallas Volunteer Attorney program provides telephone referral of low-income individuals to volunteer attorneys who provide free legal services. Applicants must be Dallas County residents. Training, support and malpractice insurance are offered to participating attorneys.

NEIGHBORHOOD LEGAL CLINICS
Purpose: Conducts evening clinics and provides legal representation for low-income applicants with problems in civil law matters, including family, bankruptcy, housing, consumer, employment termination and wage claims, guardianships, wills, and small estates. Clinics are held at the Martin Luther King Center—South Dallas; Grace United Methodist Church -- East Dallas; Marillac Social Center—West Dallas; and the Garland Legal Clinic (Salvation Army).

DISABILITY RIGHTS TEXAS
Purpose: Provides referrals to programs to persons with disabilities and assists in training persons in self-advocacy and accessing services from state agencies.

LEGAL HOSPICE OF TEXAS
Purpose: Legal Hospice of Texas provides free legal assistance to residents of Dallas, Collin, Denton, Henderson, Hunt, Rockwall, Kaufman, Ellis, Cooke, Navarro, Grayson, Hood, Parker, Johnson, Tarrant and Fannin counties who cannot afford an attorney, are terminally ill or HIV positive, and have a legal issue related to or impacted by their qualifying diagnosis.

DISPUTE MEDIATION SERVICES, INC.
Purpose: Affordable conflict resolution assistance is offered in a wide range of disputes. Trained mediators assist parties in finding mutually agreeable solutions. Fees range from $100 to $200 per party.

THE FAMILY PLACE
Purpose: Counseling and shelter for battered women and their children. The 24-hour hotline provides advice on family violence. Counseling is available for women and children and perpetrators.

FATHERS FOR EQUAL RIGHTS INC.
Purpose: Fathers For Equal Rights is a 30 year old organization helping fathers, families and children of Dallas. They have 14 attorneys who hold individual sessions for members in our offices every day. There is also a general information meeting held every Thursday night (except holidays) at 7:00 p.m. and is open to the public. Service is provided without regard to gender.

HOUSING CRISIS CENTER
Purpose: Conducts legal clinics for persons with rental and landlord/tenant problems. Seeks to assist individuals threatened with eviction and other cases in the Justice of the Peace and County Courts.

HUMAN RIGHTS INITIATIVE
Purpose: Provides legal representation and social services free of charge to those who have fled persecution and arrived in Dallas, Texas with nothing.

LAWYER REFERRAL SERVICE
Purpose: This service of the Dallas Bar Association makes referrals to attorneys on various types of legal matters on a fee basis. The initial half-hour consultation cost $20.

LEGAL AID OF NORTHWEST TEXAS
Purpose: Provides free legal services to low-income persons in a variety of fields, principally public entitlements, landlord/tenant disputes, consumer and employment matters and family law. Clinics are held at the main office on a weekly basis.

MOSAIC FAMILY SERVICES
Purpose: To provide legal services in the areas of immigration and family law to immigrant and refugee victims of domestic violence and human trafficking. (214) 821-5393

PROTECTIVE ORDERS DIVISION
Purpose: This division of the Dallas County District Attorney's office obtains protective orders in family violence and child abuse cases.

SMU CIVIL LEGAL CLINIC
Purpose: Holds clinics which assist low-income Dallas County residents with legal matters involving consumer fraud, landlord/tenant disputes, civil rights, and nursing home disputes.

Purpose: Holds daytime clinics which assist low-income Dallas County residents in need of help with criminal prosecution of misdemeanor cases. No fraud cases are handled.

Purpose: Handles tax-related cases for low-income Dallas County residents in the areas of audits, liens, negotiated settlements and collection plans.

TEXASLAWHELP.ORG
Purpose: This website was created to help people who have to handle simple civil legal problems without a lawyer. It offers free publications you can read to learn about a specific area of the law, and forms you can use to help represent yourself in court.

WOMEN’S ADVOCACY PROJECT
Purpose: Maintains a statewide toll-free hotline for women with legal problems relating to family violence or abuse.
